🌿 Pawleys Island • Georgetown County

Dennis and Melanie Suszko started Palmetto Waste to care for the coast they call home.

We are a brand-new, family-operated service focused on simple promises: show up when scheduled, treat every driveway with respect, and keep communication personal.

Our Mission

Deliver dependable waste pickup for coastal neighborhoods through honest work, tidy equipment, and neighbors-helping-neighbors service.

A note from Dennis

“We launched Palmetto Waste to give Pawleys and Georgetown a responsive option you can call directly. If something’s off, you reach me or Melanie.”

What guides every route.

These four principles shape how Dennis and Melanie handle every pickup.

Show up when promised

Routes are planned around neighborhood rhythms so cans are emptied before busy beach mornings and community events.

Respect the coast

Clean bins, covered loads, and careful handling keep marsh breezes fresh and driveways neat.

Friendly follow-through

Need help rolling carts back toward the house or adding an extra stop? Dennis or Melanie will work it into the plan.

Clear communication

Schedule changes are shared by phone or email ahead of time so you’re never guessing.

Why we launched Palmetto Waste.

Dennis Suszko spent years coordinating municipal services along the coast, while Melanie Suszko managed community outreach for local nonprofits. Together they saw how often residents and small businesses needed a reliable, personable waste provider—and how hard it was to reach someone local.

“We answer the phone ourselves, learn your routine, and make sure pickup feels easy. That’s the promise behind every cart we roll.”

Melanie Suszko · Co-Founder

Launching Palmetto Waste lets us keep operations intentionally small and personal. We would rather grow one street at a time than stretch thin and compromise care.

How we operate

  • Personal onboarding call with Dennis or Melanie before first pickup.
  • Routes scheduled to respect HOA guidelines, gated access, and tide timing.
  • Follow-up check within the first month to confirm service is meeting expectations.
